Wretch Drops New Mixtape..

Wretch 32 has decided to go and release a free mixtape for his fans. ‘Wretchercise’ demonstrates Wretch’s old school flows, witty punchlines and his trademark anecdotal rhyming pattern in this 17 track strong mixtape.

Radio 1 & 1Xtra Appearances..

Over the past few months I’ve made a few appearances on Radio 1 & 1Xtra, so me being the slightly big headed guy that I am, I decided to blog a few of them just in case you missed me on NATIONAL radio..

Radio 1 Review Show with Edith Bowman

1. As part of the Hackney Academy, in the run to Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend, the station decided to give 20 young individuals from London the opportunity to take part in a 3 day training session in the studios. We were all put on Vis’ show who was covering for Tim Westwood at the time and this is what happened when I introduced a track for the Hot 6 at 6..

Vis’ Show on 1Xtra

2. If that wasn’t enough, a few of us were given a 15 minute chunk of Charlie Sloth’s Weekend morning show. To get Charlie to shut up for 15 minutes is a rare occasion, so we jumped at the opportunity and produced this little 15 minute bad-boy for the listeners..

Charlie Sloth’s Show on 1Xtra

One love to the producers who helped us, APE Media, Break London and the Take It On Team – this is only the beginning..

The Angel Haze Craze..

Seems like everybody’s talking about this certain female rapper who has decided to infiltrate her way into the Rap game, she goes by the name of Angel Haze, the 20 year old’s relentlessly raw lyrics balance up well with her hard-hitting flow.

She dropped a mixtape entitled: Reservation which focuses mainly on her hard upbringing, battles with love and dedication towards chasing a dream she’s had for the last few years. After the release, of her tape big labels such as Universal Repubilic and Island decided to sign her up – if you haven’t checked her out yet, do so!

Devlin’s Fire in the Studio..

Devlin recently passed through Radio 1 to deliver his Fire in the Booth for Charlie Sloth’s late night Hip-Hop show on BBC Radio 1. I was helping out with the production of the show on the day, everyone knows that the booth gets demolished when artists decide to drop their freestyle.

However, this time things were a bit different, Devlin actually decided to DESTROY the microphone literally!

One of the biggest Fire in Booth’s I’ve heard to date, If you haven’t checked his Fire in the Booth, check it below:

When Mim met Rita…

The girl of the moment right now – Miss Rita Ora, is currently touring with DJ Fresh all over the country. She recently made an appearance at Leeds University Union, where she shacked out the whole venue!

Once I found out that Rita was going to be performing in Leeds, I could not let this opportunity slide, I had to get an interview with her, and that is exactly what happened:

Inside the Rita Ora tour bus, where we recorded the full interview.

I wanted to know everything about this young girl, her journey has been remarkable: I wanted to know where it all started, how it happened, who influences her, why is she such a success and most importantly why she has a problem with the word eclectic?

Listen to the full interview here:

R.I.P‘ is her first debut single which is out now to download from iTunes.

This Sunday on the Official Chart Show, I have no doubt that Rita Ora will be at Radio 1 – celebrating her new number 1!

Mic Righteous – Fire In The Booth (BBC Radio 1)

I listen to every single Fire In The Booth when it gets uploaded by the People’s Prince Charlie Sloth on BBC Radio 1.

But this has to be the best one I’ve heard to date. Mic Righteous dropped an emotional freestyle and destroyed the Radio 1 booth!

Words can’t describe the talent presented in this week’s Fire In The Booth. Check it:

Tupac performs LIVE at Coachella

Everyone couldn’t believe it when they saw it. But, Tupac Shakur made his Coachella debut last night as he was resurrected through a hologram and projected LIVE on stage in front of thousands of people at the music festival.

If you haven’t seen the video, catch it below:

There are conspiracists out there who are adamant that Tupac is still alive. They want to know how the engineers got his voice projected onto the hologram? How is he able to say ‘Coachella’ when he’s never actually performed at the festival? How is this all possible?

These are only some of the questions that the fans want answering. But however it was created, one thing is for sure, this is:

Technology at it’s finest!

Who said ‘Grime’ was dead?

“Nah, that tune’s too commercial man”.

I’m sure we’ve all heard or even said this over the past few years when some of our favourite urban artists have decided to go and chase the money and release mainstream music for the charts.

Recently I’ve been reminiscing over the old school grime wave that infiltrated the school playgrounds when I was growing up as a young gun.Recently, I was told to listen to a track which features Lil’ Nasty, Double S, Lady Leshurr, Scrufizzer, Dot Rotten and Tre Mission.

A follow up to the original with Ruff Sqwad, Ghetts, Roachee and Stutta, the ‘Hoods Up’ remix sees a new barrage of MC’s take to Teddy Music’s unrelenting production for another posse cut.

Grime is still live and kicking and its demonstrated lyrically in the video below:

HOODS UP!
